Engaging Nanny Educator | Every Monday - 7.5 hrs per week | NSKPS

Location: South-East Melbourne (exact location provided to shortlisted applicants)
Schedule: Monday 9am to 4:30 pm
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a calm, creative, and engaging nanny/support worker to join our family’s support team one day per week.

This role is ideal for someone who values connection over control, enjoys working collaboratively with children, and brings flexibility, patience, and creativity into their practice.

👪 About the Family
We are a close-knit, easy-going family who takes a strengths-based, individualised approach to supporting our two autistic children. We prioritise understanding, connection, and practical solutions over rigid ideas of “normal” or traditional parenting approaches.

We view our support workers as part of our team and value open communication, respect, and partnership.

📌About the Role
This role is ideal for a nurturing nanny with extensive infant experience who enjoys supporting early development in a calm, structured, and engaging environment.

The successful applicant will be caring exclusively for an infant who will be approximately four months old when the position begins. Two older siblings attend school during the day, so the focus of this role is solely on the baby's care.

⏰ Key Responsibilities
Providing safe, warm, and supportive care for two children
Engaging in child-led play and games
Supporting creativity through art, crafts, and imaginative activities
Encouraging outdoor play and movement-based activities
Preparing simple meals and snacks
Supporting a calm, low-demand environment throughout the day
Planning flexible activities based on the children’s interests

🌟 Ideal Educator Profile
We are looking for someone who is:
Calm, emotionally regulated, and patient
Confident using de-escalation and co-regulation strategies
Creative, flexible, and able to think outside the box
Comfortable working in a collaborative, non-authoritarian way
Respectful of neurodivergent-affirming approaches
Open to learning about PDA and low-demand parenting/support strategies
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children (experience with autism or additional needs highly valued)
Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable and punctual

Why Join This Family?
We are a relaxed and supportive family who value partnership over hierarchy. We don’t micromanage and trust our support team to bring their skills, ideas, and personality into the role. We’re always available to collaborate and provide guidance when needed.

This is a meaningful role for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children who benefit from thoughtful, respectful, and flexible support.
