Placement Solutions is seeking an experienced, compassionate and professional Nanny / Disability Support Worker to join a private family in Melbourne's inner south-east, providing dedicated support to their 12-year-old son with complex physical and developmental needs.

The family is looking to establish a consistent, reliable and collaborative support arrangement, with a strong focus on finding someone who can build a meaningful relationship with their son and become a trusted part of his ongoing care team.

🗓️  Shift Details:
Morning shifts
Monday–Friday | Approximately 7:30am–9:45am

Afternoon shifts
Monday–Friday | Approximately 12:15pm or 2:15pm–5:30pm/6:00pm
OR in combining the Disability Nanny support and Household Management together for someone with dual skillsets, 35 hours across the week can be offered.

The family is open to considering candidates for a combination of morning and afternoon shifts, or separate applicants for different components of the role. A minimum commitment of four days per week is preferred, with additional hours potentially available for candidates experienced in household management.

This is a meaningful, long-term opportunity suited to an experienced Nanny or Disability Support Professional who values consistency, professional working relationships and making a genuine difference in a young person's life.

The successful applicant will provide warm, attentive and individualised care, supporting the child's daily routines, personal care, mobility, school transitions and developmental activities. Responsibilities will include assistance with hygiene and continence care, safe transfers and manual handling, mealtime support, school transportation and implementing established therapy routines.

The child is a happy and engaging young person who enjoys music, outdoor activities and familiar routines. He thrives on consistency and strong relationships with his carers, making reliability and a genuine connection particularly important as he prepares for his transition to secondary school.
For candidates with the appropriate skills and availability, the role may also incorporate household management responsibilities, including meal preparation, laundry, general household organisation and assisting with the smooth running of the family home.

Requirements include:
• Minimum 2–3 years' relevant professional experience preferred
• Previous experience in disability support, complex care or working with children with additional needs highly regarded
• Confidence with personal care, manual handling and specialised mobility equipment, or willingness to undertake appropriate training
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid & CPR, or willingness to obtain
• Current driver's licence and confidence transporting children
• Australian working rights
• Excellent, verifiable references

Qualifications in disability support, allied health or a related field will be highly regarded, although practical experience, professional maturity and genuine commitment are equally valued.
